Are Isle of Skye Day tickets the same as a tour fare?

How long is a day tour to Skye from Inverness?
Twelve to twelve and a half hours on the shared tours. Most of that is the drive to the Skye Bridge and back, so the stops on the island itself add up to anything from just over an hour to about four hours.

Do I need to book Eilean Donan in advance?
No, and you cannot. The castle sells tickets on site only, on the day, with no online advance ticket. Adults pay £13 in 2026, and your tour stop is when you queue.
Are meals included on Skye tours?
Breakfast is included on most multi-day tours that include rooms. No fare that mentions lunch or dinner includes them, so bring money for a café stop in Portree or wherever the tour breaks for lunch.

Is there a ferry to Skye?
Yes, CalMac's ferry from Mallaig to Armadale in the south of the island, which takes 45 minutes. Booking ahead is advised, and a few tours use it instead of the bridge.
What does parking cost at the Old Man of Storr?
£6 for up to six hours and £8 for up to twelve, paid at the machines or by the Ringo app. The Highland Council charges every motor vehicle, and the car park has toilets.
Can I see seals on Skye?
Dunvegan Castle runs 25-minute seal trips from the jetty below the castle, from 1 April to 30 September, on weekdays. Adults pay £14, with a castle or garden ticket.
Is Eilean Donan open in winter?
Until 22 December 2026, with shorter hours of 10:00 to 16:00 from late October. It is closed from 23 December 2026 to 1 February 2027, so a winter tour passes it without going in.
